I got to the point of unpacking where I could finally make it around the house without tripping over boxes. I had my grand daughter over for the weekend and we went to the beach on Saturday, had some icecream and really enjoyed some quality time.
I have raised my grand daughter since she was 11 months old and now she is finishing up her first year of school. She went to live with her Dad (my oldest son) in May of this year. This is a big reason for moving back to the mainland from Vancouver Island. Family is thee most important part of my life and I hope it is for them too.
Good Day everyone!
I haven't had much time to make entries into my website nearly as often as I would like. I have been extreemly busy most often 7 days a week.
I truely love my worl though so it's not hard to do when a person gets so much enjoyment from a job. I have some really awesome clients and my job changes every day. Last week I found myself biulding bee hives, installing Bird spikes to keep birds from landing and biulding nests on the pilers of a beautiful home. I was finishing a basement after doing the framework , gyproc, mudding, sanding, now comes the beauty factor the paint ,flooring. and trim.
Last week I assembled a wood chipper that goes behind a tractor and a sprayer (motorised) that also goes behind a tractor or atv. Pictures to follow, keep an eye on the picture gallery for more up dates.
I found myself needing to buy a new welder as my cargo trailer hit some nasty potholes lately and broke the axel. This is all fixed up and ready to roll now :).
this is what keeps me busy. In the next couple of weeks I will be hiring someone to assist me with all my work as I cannot keep up.
I am so excited about moving to the Sunshine Coast. I was born in Powell River and truly love this section of coast line. I lived on a Sailboat for 10 years and spent every summer cruising this area and as far North as Alaska south to Seattle. Around Vancouver Island. I will need a boat soon to make everything complete but that will come once I find the perfect boat. My awesome wife has found her dream job here which is running Habitat for humanity after working for the chamber of commerce for 2 1/2 decades..are we there yet?
It has been a while since I wrote anything as I have been busier than a one armed lint picker in a tweed coat factory. Most of my work seems to be coming from South Surrey. I have been averaging about 70+- hrs per week.
I am so happy today as I installed a new axel on my work trailer that has electric brakes. The new axel is nice as it allows me to carry a little more weight, but the brakes are awesome as it allows me to be able to stop in the rain my previous set up was just scary as 3500 lbs of trailer and tools wanted to lift up the rear end of the truck and left me with pulsating ABS brakes on my front wheels and a big need to find a washroom right after that.
All is good now. :)
Well my first week of work is done on the Sunshine Coast. The job was estimated to take 4 or 5 days. It took 4 days to remove an enclosed sunroom. The roof had 3 skylights and 2 double wide sliding doors. I removed all including a 2x6 framed floors. Next week I will be changing the siding back to the original look that the house was built with which is beveled cedar siding. I will also be adding some new facia boards and gutters.
